EDIT: Unfortunately, the Kiwi browser is no longer completely up-to-date. This may lead to security vulnerabilities. Use at your own risk.
We all know and hate them – cookie banners. Every website welcomes us with a variety of cookie settings or even with a subscription wall, i.e. the choice between “allow advertising” or a “paid subscription”. There are a number of extensions (plugins) for browsers on computers, depending on individual requirements. These little helpers were not available on smartphones. Until now!
First step: The Kiwi browser (free)
Despite its funny name – the Kiwi bird logo is fitting – the browser for Android offers everything a modern browser needs to have on board. No wonder, as the Kiwi browser is an unofficial parallel development of the Google Chrome browser – including dark mode and an integrated ad blocker.
The real highlight, however, is that the Kiwi browser is the only mobile browser to support extensions from the ‘chrome web store‘. A function that not even Google Chrome for Android currently offers.
Second step: I don’t care about cookies
Search for and install the ‘I don’t care about cookies‘ extension via the Kiwi browser in the ‘chrome web store’. ‘I don’t care about cookies’ is one of the leading extensions when it comes to making those annoying cookie banners disappear. A serious disadvantage, however, is that the extension automatically accepts all cookies – i.e. always clicks on “Accept cookies”. Which may be rather unfavorable. So you need an extension that deletes all cookies again. This is where ‘Cookie AutoDelete’ comes into play.
Third step: Cookie AutoDelete
Also one of the leading extensions that automatically deletes all cookies after closing a tab or the browser. This means that cookies only remain in the browser for one session.
Summary
It could certainly be easier. A new browser, which has an identical look to Google Chrome, and two additional extensions are a bit cumbersome. But browsing is much more pleasant. It’s definitely worth a try. Try it out!
